Meeting 1 - 30/10/14

From the meeting the previous week, we all went away and worked on logo designs to then bring together to gather feedback and to make further decisions in our design process.

Meeting 2_

Things were slightly all over the place and we hadn't made any progress since the start of term and we all had a big chat about what we should do, and if people wanted out.

We all wanted to stay as it was something that all of us were interested in however, we just didn't want it to be wasting our time and we needed to determine certain things.

We decided we needed someone in charge and nothing was getting down and when people didn't show up no one was in charge to tell them to get there arse in gear. So it was pretty much a unanimous vote that Jasper should lead the brief and be our creative director.

We then decided to delegate areas to specific people:

Fashion/Shops - Jasper & Victoria

Food/Cafe - Isabel & Rinesh

Events - Rinesh & J'nae

Drinks - Rinesh & J'nae & Victoria

Lifestyle - Jasper & Isabel

Meeting 3_

Jasper had had a busy week talking to studios and asking advice for what we need to do if this magazine is to be a success.

He briefed us on what he had been advised on:
- We need a USP
- We need a clear idea of content
- We need it to focus on one thing throughout not loads of things throughout

Jasper asked each of us to produce a list of places that were in our sector for him, plus think of ideas for our USP, and to research into printers for costs etc for Friday.

USP_

Collectable - Tactile qualities, made to always keep. Something so aesthetic about the presentation that you want to keep it, you want the next issue and the next, and the next.

Sex – Sex sells.

Print with the magazine – A piece of photography from the relevant issue.

Impact – Our cover stands out, it’s different and inviting in some way

Social Media – Interacting with potential consumers through social media, people can know the people behind the magazine.

These are the only printers who I found that give you quote on the website, apart from Blurb, but it would cost us £3000 with blurb, so that’s a no. I have emailed the others asking for quotes, will let you know when I hear back.

I reckon it will cost us around £500 to print 500 copies, so if we sell them all at £6 a pop, that’s £3000 - £600 each, so £500 profit each if we put in £100.
